Qweeka: Unifying Fiat & Crypto Banking

Problem & Context
Modern users are forced to fragment their finances, juggling traditional bank accounts for daily spending and separate Web3 wallets for crypto assets. Qweeka was conceived to bridge this gap into a single, unified interface.
However, launching a dual-engine financial app presents massive regulatory and technical friction. To de-risk the launch, we made a strategic decision to split the product into two phases: perfecting the traditional banking core first (Phase 1), while keeping the crypto infrastructure in a visual design sandbox (Phase 2).
My challenge was to design a rock-solid fiat banking foundation that left intuitive, pre-mapped entry points for the upcoming crypto features without cluttering the user experience.
The Strategy & Decisions (The "Why")
Instead of trying to reinvent how people send money, I designed Qweeka to leverage existing user habits. I analyzed top-performing consumer banking apps to map out familiar, high-conversion transaction flows.
Every design decision was driven by reducing cognitive load:
Leveraging Mental Models: By utilizing familiar layout structures for transfers, bill payments, and card management, we eliminated the onboarding learning curve.
Designing for the Future: I built a modular dashboard widget system. This allows the fiat-only dashboard of Phase 1 to seamlessly transition to a dual fiat-crypto view in Phase 2 without requiring a structural redesign of the app.
Error Prevention via Progressive Disclosure: Instead of crowding data onto a single screen, I intentionally split the transaction flow into clear, step-by-step screens. This ensures users have absolute clarity and confidence at every decision point, significantly reducing accidental transfers and payment errors.
Home & Navigation
Naira Dashboard: The central hub users land on. Clean balance display, quick-action buttons for frequent tasks (send, top-up, pay bills), and clear pathways to deeper flows.
Crypto Dashboard
A unified crypto experience that mirrors the fiat side's familiarity:
Crypto Home: Balance, quick actions (Buy/Sell/Send/Receive), and holdings at a glance
Market Discovery: Search, filter, and browse coins with price, cap, and change indicators
Coin Detail: Charts, market stats, and direct Buy/Sell
Authentication & Account Security
This was the foundation, users need to trust the app before they trust it with their money:
Login Flow: Secure, familiar patterns.
Signup Flow: Minimal friction, progressive information collection.
Forgot Password Flow: Clear recovery path with identity verification steps to prevent account takeover
KYC Verification: Identity verification for compliance.
Set Transaction PIN: Custom PIN creation with confirmation.

This was the daily-use engine therefore every transaction needs to feel instant and trustworthy:
Money Transfer Flow: Send fiat to other users or banks.
Naira Account Top-up: Add money to your account.
Airtime Subscription Flow: Purchase mobile airtime.
Data Subscription Flow: Purchase internet data bundles.
Betting Account Credit Flow: Fund betting wallets.
Electricity Bill Subscription Flow: Pay utility bills.
TV Subscription Flow: Renew cable TV packages.
